[. . . ] ConductiGlass Lining ® ConductiGlass® Delete any risk of electrostatic damage on glass-lined equipment The probleme of electrostatic charges The mixing of non conductive products in a glass-lined reactor may lead to the development of electrostatic charges in the heart of the reaction medium. [. . . ] The flow of electrostatic charges is an intrinsic property of the ConductiGlass® material. Controles The ConductiGlass® enamel does not become clearly conductive as a metal for example, because its conductivity is only increased at the minimum value required for the flow of the electrostatic charges. Therefore: - dielectric control of the glass-lining still remains possible (limited at 5 kV) - functioning of the permanent EmailTest AZ monitoring and portable GlasTest AZP1 are not at all disturbed It is then still possible to monitor a ConductiGlass® vessel with an EmailTest and to locate an eventual defect (mechanical choc, thermal chock, etc. ) with a dielectric test. It is not necessary for the customer to change and re-write his procedures: a ConductiGlass® equipment does not required more attention than a standard one. Easiness of use The dispersion of the fibres is done directly in the glass suspension which is sprayed onto the vessels in exactly the same way than for the standard glass-lining. All kinds of equipment, all shape of accessories can be protected by a ConductiGlass® lining. There is no specific technology to apply (except the fibres dispersion) and all the technologic know how and skills of our operators can be immediately transposed and applied to the ConductiGlass® solution. This is a very important key factor of process monitoring and quality guarantee for the customer. Many references ConductiGlass® system is produced under license of N. G. K. INSULATORS Ltd. , the world famous ceramist group which has developed and patented it. The first ConductiGlass® equipment have been installed in 1998, and more than 100 reactors are working actually (03/2003), replacing vessels previously damaged by electrostatic discharges, in activities as different as production of medicines, pesticides, resins, electronic components, using solvents like toluene, chloroform, ether, n-heptane, benzene . . .
